Wow, I have lots listed on my mind even long before I had this blog. Although there are countless of them, there are four that topped them all.
Batanes Island – particularly Sabtang Lighthouse, oh well, I should be a tourist on my own land, but more than that commercial logic I’ve always had this personal fascination with lighthouses, in fact most of my short stories made (unpublished) had always lighthouse subjects on it. There’s something about lighthouses that evokes a mixed feeling of nostalgia, fear, bravery and compassion.
Japan’s Cherry Blossom Festival – if not because of me thinking I’m too selfish for going alone, I could have booked a ticket to just stride aimlessly under these fairly lovely trees. I think walking along these lanes gives you nothing but happy thoughts, happy feelings that think would never end. Just Awesome.
Salzburg, Austria – particularly Hallstatt Lake. When I was a kid there was this big poster with a rest house by the lakeside posted at the back of our garage. I’ve always hoped that one day I’ll walk on that pretty garden by the lake too. But it was only in college that I learned that that photo was Hallstatt Lake ….. To me having a day passed on this place seems like you’ve renewed all the worn-out spirits and energies inside you.
Bhutan – A trip to this place would be like a spiritual and intellectual rebirth. I’ve always been a believer of the teachings of Dalai Lama. It would be an awesome feeling having to breathe same air with people whose faith is anchored on his teachings. I will take it as a renewal of wisdom having to trek to this Buddhist monastery.
